📚 Special News: Book Release

One of the highlights of this year’s Batizado weekend will be the release of our new educational and cultural project:

“Nossas raízes Africanas / Our African Roots”
Created by Professora Iguana, Professora Ciranda & Graduada Rara

This bilingual (PORTUGUESE/ENGLISH) project was created especially for children and families as a way to introduce important themes connected to African heritage, Capoeira, culture, music, traditions, and identity in a simple, meaningful, and educational way.

The book explores how African influence helped shape:

🥁 Capoeira
🎶 Music and rhythm
💃 Dance and celebration
🍲 Food and traditions
🪘 Community and resistance

More than a book, this project represents our mission to preserve culture, inspire curiosity, and help younger generations feel connected to the roots of Capoeira beyond the movements themselves.

During the event, families will have the opportunity to:

  • See the official release presentation
  • Participate in cultural activities connected to the book
  • Celebrate the students and community who helped make this project possible

We are incredibly excited to share this labor of love with our Capoeira family.
