The Value of the Capoeira Cord and Its Expectations

Every cord (corda) in Capoeira represents much more than technical ability. It reflects commitment, responsibility, personal growth, and service to the community. As students advance, they not only improve their movement but also become role models who preserve and share the traditions of Capoeira.

Join us for our August Aulão do Mês, where Professor Ferrugem (São Paulo, Brazil) will lead a special outdoor class exploring the meaning behind the Capoeira graduation system and what each cord represents throughout the journey.
