We are excited to announce our Batizado and Graduation Ceremony will be taking place on October 2, 2021 at Corte Madera Town Park (at the normal area where we hold classes across from the Post Office.
The Batizado is a traditional graduation ceremony in which new students
will receive a capoeira nickname and play a special game of capoeira with a high-ranking ABADÁ member, symbolically welcoming them into the
ABADÁ capoeira community. New and selected continuing students will
receive a colored cord that represents their skill and experience level. This
event is a very meaningful event in the life of both student and teacher.
This ceremony is our most important event in the last two years. As you know, last year's graduation ceremony had to be cancelled due to the COVID-10 pandemic.
So please join us on this special day in which all of our Marin students gather together to celebrate each other's growth. Mestra Márcia Cigarra will be our special guest for this event along. Many top-level international capoeiristas and teachers will also attend!
INVITE THE FAMILY - THIS IS A FREE EVENT!
Family Members can enjoy the Event too -- just have them bring a blanket.
We will be following the COVID-19 PROTOCOL.
Please wear a mask and practice social distancing.
