With Gratitude to Jacobina. Our heartfelt thanks go to Mestre Camisa for bringing this extraordinary gathering to life. From the impeccable organization to the rich program of cultural events, every moment honored Capoeira’s history, music, community, and living traditions.

We are also deeply grateful to the Prefeitura de Jacobina and Mayor Valdice Castro Vieira da Silva for their welcome and support in celebrating the culture of this remarkable city.

It was beautiful to see Mestre Camisa speak with such pride about Jacobina: its mountains and waterfalls, the aboio, marujada, samba de roda, the memories of the cattle driver, and his childhood in Itapeipu. He has traveled the world, yet has never left his homeland behind.

As he says: “Those who do not know their origins will never know their destiny.”
