STUDIO BREAK AND IMPORTANT UPDATE

Dear Capoeira Family:

ABADÁ-Capoeira Marin will be CLOSED from AUGUST 18 through SEPTEMBER 1.

Classes will RESUME on Tuesday, SEPTEMBER 2, 2025.❗

Why the Two-Week Break?

We want to thank you for your understanding and take a moment to explain why this year’s summer break is a week longer than usual. Typically, our studio closes for one week during the ABADÁ Games in Brazil — a major annual meeting with capoeira workshops and competitions in Rio de Janeiro.

This year, however, we are observing a two-week closure due to a very special and one-time circumstance:

First: Instrutora Ciranda recently underwent major knee surgery in Brazil. Thankfully, surgery went well and she is recovering as planned.

Second: Next week, Ciranda will travel to Rio de Janeiro to participate in the ABADÁ World Games, where she will receive a new cord and be officially honored with the title of Professora.

This honor can only take place in Brazil. This moment is significant for Ciranda, our school, and our community. We deeply appreciate your patience and support during this necessary two-week break. We hope you also recognize all the programs and high-level instruction that we have provided six days a week at our studio throughout the year.
