09 Oct Aulão Recap: Capoeira é também Reflexão
Our October Aulão was more than a training — it was a chance to reflect on how Capoeira has influenced our lives, families, and communities.
🙏 Special thanks to Professora Barbara e Professor Caboblo pelo video de contando suas experiências com o tema.
🙏 Mestrando Jabuti, thank you warming everyone up for the Roda.
🙏 Professora Iguana and Benjamin’s presence from San Francisco.
🙏 Mestra Marcia Cigarra, Professor Ferrugem for sharing her journey and inspiring words participating online, as well as Graduada Rara and Amazona , all the way from Florida. THANK YOU!
The intention of this aulão was to reflect on and celebrate the many ways Capoeira connects us — to our families, our cultures, our communities, and, most deeply, to ourselves.
WORLD: Capoeira has traveled the world. It’s a symbol of Brazilianness and resistance, recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
COMMUNITY:Capoeira is resistance, it is living culture, it is an open circle.
FAMILIA : Capoeira was born and still is growing as family expression.
MYSELF: Capoeira is both a mirror and a path — each body speaks, each movement tells a personal story.
