We are proud to announce that one of our students Gamal Chasten (“Graduado Maçaradubá”) will be presenting his critically acclaimed play “Crawfish - We The Invisible” at the Upcoming Black Experience Festival from August 9 to August 25.
Gamal was our first student at ABADÁ-Capoeira Marin, has been training capoeira with us for 10 years, and is one of the Directors of our organization. He is a heralded actor, playwright, and poet as well as an accomplished martial artist.
In addition to playing capoeira, Gamal is a certified personal trainer and experienced boxing coach. He is the founder and principal boxing coach of Marin Boxing (www.marinboxing.com), the top-rated Boxing Gym in Marin County, where he serves athletes and enthusiasts interested in boxing coaching, group boxing classes, sparring, personal training, and more. Marin Boxing is located in our San Anselmo Studio at 42 Greenfield Ave., San Anselmo, 94960. To arrange a class, go to the Marin Boxing website or email Gamal at gamal@marinboxing.com.
If you have not seen Gamal perform “Crawfish,” we strongly urge you to do so. It is an incredibly creative, expressive, and thought-provoking experience. Congratulations, Gamal, and thank you for all your contributions to ABADÁ-Capoeira Marin!!
