2024: A Year to Remember
This year, we reached new milestones that deepened our impact:

• Batizado and Graduation Ceremony: Our annual event was more vibrant than ever, featuring workshops with world-renowned masters and celebrating the growth of our students with unforgettable rodas.
• Parade Wins: We brought home First Place at the Larkspur-Corte Madera Fourth of July Parade and Second Place at the Fairfax Parade, showcasing the art of Capoeira to our wider community.
• Marin County Fair: Participated in this cherished event, connecting with countless attendees and introducing them to the rhythm, movement, and joy of Capoeira.
• Youth Empowerment: Continued offering Capoeira instruction across Marin and beyond, reaching hundreds students in school-day residencies and conducting regular afterschool classes.
• Inclusivity in Action: Provided Capoeira classes for special education students at Compass Academy.
• Cultural Enrichment: Performed at and hosted cultural events and live Capoeira performances, strengthening community ties and preserving Afro-Brazilian traditions.
• Global Participation: Instrutora Ciranda participated on the Campeonato Brasileiro da Abadá-Capoeira, and Zumbimba held for the first time in the Quilombo dos Palmares

Let’s step into the shoes of Instrutora Ciranda, our two-time Capoeira World Champion and the dedicated president of ABADÁ-Capoeira Marin. For nearly a decade, she has woven the rich tapestry of Afro-Brazilian culture into the lives of Marin’s children.

As she steps into classrooms and community centers across Marin—places like Twin Cities, Marin Horizon, Ross Valley Charter, and Compass Academy—she transforms spaces into vibrant rodas where children’s laughter, music, and movement bring Capoeira to life.

Her teaching extends far beyond kicks and acrobatics. Through Capoeira, she empowers children with confidence, discipline, and a deep connection to culture.
