ABADÁ WASHINGTON, D.C. GRADUATION CEREMONY AND "CAPITAL GAMES"

ProfessoraYara is celebrating the 15th year anniversary of her school, ABADÁ-D.C. in Washington, D.C. from May 3 to May 7, 2023.

From May 3rd to May 6th Mestre Morcego (Rio de Janeiro) will run a series of workshops for all ABADÁ-Capoeira members.
The Batizado and Graduation Ceremony will be on May 7.

In addition, on May 6th, ABADÁ-DC will host the first edition of the ABADÁ-D.C. CAPITAL GAMES! Mestrando Morceguinho (5x world champion & 6x Brazilian champion) will be present, amongst other guests.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE NEW MESTRANDOS of ABADÁ-CAPOEIRA!

Last November 2022 at Zumbimba, Mestre Camisa announced that a new group of ten Professors from ABADÁ-Capoeira who will be graduating as Mestrandos in August 2023 at the ABADÁ World Games in Rio de Janeiro. Our close friend Professora Yara is among this elite group!

Congratulations to all of these wonderful capoeiristas -- especially to Professora Yara, who has lent her help to us so many times.
Start getting ready to join us in Brazil for the games this August!

Highlights from the End of the Year Celebration & Holiday Roda

2022 was an incredible year for us. Perhaps our greatest memory was moving into our new studio in San Anselmo. We also celebrated our sixth Batizado and Graduation Ceremony with special guests Mestrando Arpodor, Mestrando Cancâo, Professor Ferrugem and honored guest Mestra Márcia Cigarra.

We are so proud of all our students' growth and contributions. We plan to bring even more capoeira and Brazilian culture of to our students next year, including new cultural presentations, in-house productions, school residencies and performances, new training, workshops, Portuguese classes 💪🏽 and special classes on Fridays.

It was great to see our community together at the End of the Year Celebration and Holiday Roda. We missed all the students who could not make it.
