Professor Prego had the opportunity to join Yara Cordeira from ABADÁ DC along with many other capoeiristas to participate at this mega event. Hundreds of people enjoyed live music filling the air, from hip hop to the classics to world music. All while international food trucks line up, offering countless dishes to savor. Join thousands unified in a yoga flow. Tap into joy, peace, and community. It’s the celebration of the decade on the National Mall in DC.

Highlights from our 2023 Batizado Ceremony and Capoeira performance

Congratulations to all abadá marin students who moved up a cord level this year. You deserve it! a brand new cord for you to sweat out in training!

Our batizado theme was “sertões nordestinos” to raise awareness of this incredible and culturally dynamic region of northeastern brazil. At our recent batizado, our students performed three cultural traditions from brazil's northeast region: maculelê, aboio and the quadrilha dance. Many thanks to graduada negona 🌷 and coragem 🌷for the great job arranging the video!
