Mark your calendars for our special event on July 26th! We’re hosting a free Aulão (big class) open to everyone, followed by a community potluck. It’s the perfect opportunity to train with a diverse group of Capoeiristas, share some delicious food, and strengthen our community bonds. Bring your favorite dish to share and join us for an evening of fun and fellowship.
A heartfelt parabéns to all students who participated in our annual Graduation Ceremony, Capoeira Performance and Workshops. The Batizado ceremony was a great success, filled with mesmerizing Capoeira performances, thrilling games, and awe-inspiring solos. Congratulations to Wakanda for winning our first Impact of Capoeira award. A special shoutout to Tânia Santiago for her stunning choreography and direction of the breathtaking Afro-Brazilian dance performance. Thank you also to our Portuguese language students for their captivating Maculelê exhibition. It was quite a celebration — see the pictures below!
A massive thank you to our Honored Guests Mestra Márcia “Cigarra,” Mestra Edna, as well as our special Honored Guest Mestrando Mobília for their participation in our annual Batizado and Workshops.
We also want to extend our gratitude to our Special Guests Mestranda Yara and Mestrando Arpoador for all their help. Also, we want to especially thank all our volunteers and all the Professores, Instrutores, and Graduados who traveled from Brazil, Germany, New York, Washington DC, Utah, Canada, Mexico and San Francisco to be with us.
