Throughout February, we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the fight for civil rights. His message of nonviolent resistance, equality, and unity echoes the roots of Capoeira, which was born from the struggle for freedom.
Capoeira teaches us to face challenges with strategy, resilience, and movement—just as Dr. King taught the world to face injustice with courage and unwavering determination.
This month, as we train, sing, and play, let’s remember the importance of standing together, lifting each other up, and using our voices and bodies as instruments for positive change.
